What to do

  • The Vatican and Sistine Chapel – the biggest tip We can give you is to book online, the line for tickets is notoriously long people queue for hours , there are touts who say avoid the queues and they queue for you, so just book online for around €56 each
  • Colosseum – this was imposing from the outside and breathtaking on the inside, you can just picture the crowds and gladiators and the noise, luckily it’s not that noisy these days. Price was around €16 each  which gave you access to the Colesseum, Roman forum and palatine hill.
  • Trip to Pompei – it was all day £105 each was an early start went with City wonders tours and it was one of the best tours, their guides were entertaining and informative, we had a pit stop on the way down and then on to mount sulfano instead of Vesuvius as inaccessible and lunch included pizza, onto pompei with a English speaking guide Enzo who was passionate and knowledgable who was a pleasure to listen too. A stop on the way back to try different Italian samples such as limoncello, olives, cheese etc
