What can we say about Napoli – it’s has a vibe all of its own, from the constant throng of visitors from all over at the port to the serene views from the cliff tops!

“Naples sitteth by the sea, keystone of an arch of azure.

Getting there

First view off the plane and Mount Vesuvius dominates
  • We flew from London To Naples International airport flight time around 2 hours 45 minutes
  • We took a taxi from The airport to our Airbnb costs €25
  • There is a way to train and bus but it looks quite tricky especially when you have luggage etc so we opted for a taxi

Where to stay

  • Airbnb – we stayed in an Airbnb in Naples about 10 minutes walk from Molo Beverello (the port) costs for this were just under £58 per night and stayed for 8 nights
  • Hotel start at £70 and up in the same area

What to do

  • There are numerous churches to visit with their spectacular ornate decoration we went into one purely as we had regularly walked passed and lots of people kept going in and wow (pictured above) it’s was so plain on the outside but when you went …simply breathtaking
  • We did our favourite hop on hop off bus around Naples which gave a great insight into different historic facts and myths, this is a good thing to start with as when you do visit something part of what you were told comes back and you think cool..
  • We also took a boat trip around the bay and up the coast, which was again full of stories and info about the surrounding area
  • We travelled by ferry and spent different days in different places
