Miami has some lots of different vibes going on from the Art Deco buildings to the ultra new build of the Frost Museum. To sandy beaches to the blue of the Atlantic Ocean of south beach.
“Miami is one of these places where diversity is in our blood, where, you know, if you want to go have a Nicaraguan breakfast, a Cuban lunch, and an American diner dinner, you do- Ana Navarro
Getting there
- We flew from New Orleans To Miami airport flight time around 2 hours, then from Miami international airport to south beach hotel in about 30 minutes.
- We took a taxi from Airport to Hotel costs about $30
Where to stay
- Hotel – we stayed at the Lexington which was on Miami Beach, this is very reasonable priced for the area, we don’t worry to much about our hotel, as long as it’s clean, we are hardly there after all.
- Airbnb – Start from around £75 in the Miami Beach area
What to do
- It would be remiss of us it not to talk about the beach area, whether you want Miami Beach, South Beach or sobe to the locals or south pointe beach it all connects with a 4 mile boardwalk which it looks that is being extended all the time. For your safety there are lifeguard towers dotted along the beaches.
- There are so many different things to see and do in Miami from the nightlife to downtown Miami, would suggest to get on the hop on hop off bus to get you around. These cover lots of areas including bayside shopping centre, frost museum, the freedom tower which has a rich History to tell which now works as a art museum. In the bus you get to see the floating retirement village where by retired people moor their little boats(homes) so they can afford to stay in the area.
- You can also see famous hotels such as fountaine bleu, across the river there houses of the rich and famous.
- We went into the museum of ice cream, its a place for fun, if you are looking for an educational visit this isn’t what you want, its pink, fun and you have ice cream treats on the way round, what more could you ask for. You have to book this online as at the time we went they took no payment at the door.
