“You know when you have spirit animals if places had that, this would be mine
-Jayne of traveltaggers
Getting there
- We flew from London To Los Angeles International airport flight time around 11 hours 15 minutes
- Here is our secret we were staying for 3 days so we stayed at the airport so check out our tips further down
- Depending where you are staying In LA which depend on costs- this is a busy hub so be prepared. There are the usual Uber, taxi, shuttles etc so work out how you going to transfer before you go would be our advice
Where to stay
- Airbnb – they start at around £80 and up
- Hotel- so as I said we stayed near the airport at one of the Hilton chain paid £150 a night – we got a shuttle bus from the airport to hotel about 15 minutes away. We stayed here for 3 days. I know what your thinking- what about the planes going over…nope no noise
What to do
- On this we normally give you different venues, not this time it’s different areas. So how did get to these we went to our firm favorite the hop on hop off bus. There was a stop right outside the Hilton we stayed in.
- The hop on hop off la has good routes to get you all over so where did we go…
- Santa Monica – the pier, the beach, the one off funky shops to get something unique
- Beverley Hills – home to the rich and famous, it also houses the Beverley gardens parks to have a wander round along with the exclusivity of shopping on rodeo drive
- Hollywood – so much to do get out and onto the boulevard with the Chinese theater, Hollywood walk of fame, view of the Hollywood sign and much more, when we were there the was a man dressed up like willy wonky ( Johnny Deppe style) and cowboy dressed in the USA flag speedos and a guitar. But it all adds to the uniqueness of the area
- Venice Beach – the boardwalk, the canal, muscle beach, the skate park, street art, cafes etc
- Check out our Top 5 free things to do in Los Angeles
