The Big Apple – No matter what time of year it is, something draws people here for Summer or Winter. New York truly is the city that never sleeps!
“One can’t paint New York as it is, but rather as it is felt.”
-Georgia O’Keefe
The High Line
- The High Line covers 1.45 miles of resurrected train track
- It runs from Hudson’s yard to the North edge of Chelsea
- It’s an elevated park with places to sit, people watch and take in great views away from the buzz of the city
Central Park
- The park is 843 acres in size and as you can see has lakes, ponds, bridges and pathways.
- There are lots of things to see such as statues and sculptures including Alice in Wonderland, fountains, and Belvedere Castle.
- In and around the park there are also things you can pay for such as the Zoo, horse and carriage rides etc.
Staten Island Ferry
- Great photo ops of the Manhattan Skyline and Statue of Liberty
- We got off at St George’s, ran round and jumped back on the next one back
- Fact – the ferry between Manhattan and Staten Island carries around 22 million people a year
Times Square
- Here… where the city never sleeps, just sit on the steps and take it all in
- Lots of shops and places to get food, people going in every direction
- See where the famous ball drops at New Year, people queueing for Theatre tickets ( and buy some if you want too) just drink in the ambience theres nothing quite like it
Grand Central Station
- How many movies have been shot in here? Definitely need to get a selfie or two
- Obviously, if you need a train ideal, but just pop in check out the architecture
- Then you have the famous clock and the magnificent windows, places to grab a coffee as well
- Go on let tourist/ film buff/ people watcher/ instagrammer in you burst out.
