Intro to the Borough Market

1000 years this market has been here  in one form or another… Borough is defined by its position at one end of London Bridge. With the interest reignited in artisan foods in the 1990s the market has been built up since then and is now what we have today.

Visiting

  • The main market is open Wednesday to Saturday, on Monday and Tuesdays there is a limited market and no market on Sundays. 10-5 apart from Saturdays which is 10-6
  • What is meant by limited market plenty of traders not all stalls and shops are open. Full market all shops and stalls are open.
  • In a short walking distance they are car parks called Union car parks and snowsfield NCP. The market is in the congestion zone so make sure you pay your charge via tfl website.

What to check out

The market is full of different things from fruit and veg to cheese and truffles. Foods from all different countries.

There are lots of eateries around the outside of the market, once you get into the market your senses will be overactive trying to work out what foods you can smell as they have a street food area which wafts towards you making your tummy grumble.

With the street food there are so many different vendors enticing you, you will just have to try it for yourself.

The market traders have so many products as we said from fresh foods to spices to alcohol.

We wish we could move it to where we live
