Intro to The Sky Garden

If your looking for a spot that’s totally instagram worthy – this has got to be one of the top. Set at the top of the walkie talkie building , wander around  with us in the foliage of the garden and see the sights of London In one place and it’s so much more.

Visiting

  • It’s free – however you have to book, tickets are available a week before from Monday – Friday
    10am – 6pm Weekends
    11am – 9pm. Checkout the bottom of the article for tip regarding booking from our experience
  • There is a bag checking area like at an airport for security purposes
  • You don’t have to buy anything like food or drinks but there is a area to do grab a coffee and take in the views or just to sit and chill away from the throbbing vibes of London

Up there

  • There is a lift up to the Sky garden really quick under a minute if we remember correctly
  • You have views all the way round seeing Canary wharf, London stadium, the gherkin, views of the river thames in both directions
  • There is an outside viewing platform which you can get photos of the shard etc , there is a see through surround about 6ft high
  • The garden aspect of this site is wonderful lots of architectural planting gives really good aspect to all kinds of photography

  • Places of interest nearby – leadenhall market, the monument , river Thames

  • Traveltaggers top Tip – weekdays the Sky cafe garden is open from 7am until 10am, we wanted to go on our trip to London but tickets were fully booked so we were passing at about 9am and spoke to the reception and we got in had a coffee and it was less hectic. (There is no guarantee of getting in if it’s busy so best to book ) The public ticketed visitors came in at 10am and it turned busy at this time , the outside viewing platform opened at 10am and it was very busy
