Intro to The Tower of London

Located on the North Bank of the River Thames, its officially Her Majesty’s Royal Palace and fortress of the Tower of London. William the conqueror built the White Tower in 1078. The Tower of London has had many purposes including Royal residents, barracks and armoury, prison and now museum.

What to check out

The Crown jewels is a must, you walk through a hall with lots of jewelled items and they lead you into a bigger room and wow they it is. These have been kept here since the 1600’s.
Yeomans warden tours get your history lesson here, telling you stories of the beheading, treachery and torture
The white tower lots of historic arms, armours and a rather large piece on Henry the 8th, you will see what I mean
