This is a whistle stop tour of the Amalfi Coast, which includes Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi Town!

“Surrender to your dreams and let launch your tomorrow”

Getting there

  • We were based in Napoli for this one day trip so we used the local ferry terminal Molo Beverello.
  • The sailing took about 40 minutes and cost €26 return

What to do

  • The best way to see the Amalfi coast in a day is the hop on hop bus, the route goes from Sorrento to Amalfi Town with a stop at Positano
  • The main ticket office\pick up is by the train station in Sorrento, the cost of the tickets were about €15 round trip but if you want to stop at Positano on the way back it’s an extra €6
  • The bus tour last around 1 hour 25 minutes they are a lot of cliff drops, on the right hand side of the bus if sheer drops are not your thing sit on the left, the roads are very windy and are navigated very well by the driver , so if you get car sick make sure you have a tablet.
  • Positano is the first stop and I’m sure you would have heard of the town that is layered on terraces down the cliff, as pictured below
  • Amalfi Town – cute market square through the archway as you get off the bus, which leads to the church a must see in this place (as pictured at the bottom of the page)
  • Photo opportunities galore – check out our insta

Other Things to Know

  • Currency – Euro
  • Cost – as above
  • Weather – we was here in July late 20’s temperature centigrade
  • Tipping – same as the rest of Italy
  • Tips – get on the hop on hop off as early as possible so an early ferry as well to make the most of your visit.

Tip – we would definitely visit the Amalfi Coast again for a longer stay.
